Head Coach · Systems Architect · Game Changer

Hey! I’mEllyn!

I'm Not here to hand you a bubble bath….

Reformed academic. Recovering overachiever. Systems architect. Will talk you into building a custom playbook and out of "just working harder."

From the Lab Coat to the Locker Room (And Back Again)

High performers don't fail because they lack ambition. They fail because nobody ever helped them build systems that actually fit the human running them.
[Enter me, stage left.]

I was that kid. Color-coded calendar. Every extracurricular. Varsity soccer, AP classes, musical theater, choir — if you could sign up for it, I was already registered. And on the outside? I made it look effortless.

But behind the grades and the gold stars, I was exhausted. I didn't live my teen years. I performed them.

That same pressure followed me straight into adulthood — into a research lab, into a classroom, into a PhD program I eventually walked away from with no backup plan and a gut-deep sense that life had to feel better than this.

I wasn't lazy. I wasn't uncommitted. I was running at full speed inside a system that was never built for me.

@coachellyn

When I left academia, I had credentials, a decade of mentorship, and a growing obsession with one question: why do the most capable people keep hitting the same invisible walls?

The coaching industry had an answer ready: more motivation. Better mindset. A prettier morning routine. That answer was wrong.

What I found underneath the burnout was something far more interesting: driven people don't stall because they lack ambition or grit. They stall because nobody ever helped them build systems that fit the actual human running them. Nobody handed them a playbook for their specific big game.

So I got certified. I went deep on Notion, systems architecture, productivity design, and performance science. I launched Coach Ellyn LLC — not as a pivot, but as a precision diagnosis and a deliberate build.

And then I ran my own plays.

On my way to revoke someone’s coaching certification for saying ‘you just need to want it more.’

Now I build CEO Playbooks, performance systems, and operating strategies for founders, entrepreneurs, and high performers who are done reacting to their business and ready to run it. The approach is diagnostic-first, always. No templates. No guesswork. Just game film, a real diagnosis, and a playbook built for your brain, your game, and your big season.

Because the goal was never to survive the season. It was always to love the game you came to play.

The Real Talk

Balance? It's Bullshit. We know that here.

From overachieving teens to overwhelmed solopreneurs to overloaded execs — this community runs on one belief: you don't need less ambition. You need better architecture.

We're all about burnout-proof systems that don't suck, bold goals backed by smarter hustle, and unapologetically building a life where you're doing what you love and loving how you do it.

Ask Me About

The best Notion builds for your actual brain. Why I left a PhD program and never looked back. What your real performance blocker probably is (hint: it's not your mindset). How I tutored calculus and coached CEOs this week using the exact same methodology. Green heels. The soccer ball story.

Talks to AI on morning walks

An Ideal Tuesday Looks Like:

Morning walk, coffee, AI conversation, two or three deep work blocks with good music on, a student session that turns into a life conversation, an afternoon that ends before 5pm, and dinner that I actually had the energy to cook. That's not a fantasy. That's a Tuesday I built on purpose.

In My Spare Time

Long walks, rooftop journaling, hitting every local brewery and ciderhouse, a Harry Potter marathon, reading a new romantasy series, learning to golf. Fun fact: I got 2 free drinks singing Somebody to Love at karaoke in grad school and I will never stop talking about it.

Processing stress through movement — always

Unpopular Opinion(s)

Balance is BS and we all know it. Motivation is a consumable — stop spending your budget on it. The best thing you can do for your productivity is stop calling yourself undisciplined and start calling yourself undersupported. Also: tube socks with heels is a look.
