Types of Notetaking Styles
The Architect
Value: Systems
People who want structure and a clear system to organize every facet of your life. They want customization that blends practicality, function, and aesthetics.
App preference: Notion
The Gardener
Value: Exploration
People who approach notetaking as a wanderer, imaginative, and spontaneous creator. They are about creating something new. Not necessarily trying to create a system that knows where it's headed.
App preference: Obsidian
The Librarian
Value: Research
Has a deep desire to find the most useful or interesting that exist in the world and then capture them. Be able to retrieve and study them as needed. Collect, categorize, retrieve and share information.
App: OneNote/Evernote
The Student
Value: Simplicity
This is our default notetaking style because so many of us started taking notes as students. Students just need simplicity and something that does the job.
App preferences: Apple Notes, Google Keep, Notability, etc.
