Work-life balance is a cultural frame that treats a structural load problem as a personal character flaw. It fails because it's vague by design — a standard you can never hit. The real model is load vs. resources: when your load exceeds your resources, the answer isn't better habits. It's reduce the load, increase the support, or redesign the system.

CONSUME HEALTH DATA PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains how Coach Ellyn LLC ("we," "us") handles consumer health data under Washington's My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373) and similar laws. It applies to coachellyn.com, its subdomains, and our coaching, consulting and tutoring services. Our general Privacy Policy covers everything else.

We're coaches, consultants and tutors, not medical or mental health providers. But some of what people share with us can count as health information under the law, so we treat it with extra care.

1. Health data we may collect

Information clients choose to share during coaching or consulting: stress, energy, sleep, burnout, workload, and how these affect daily life.
Whether a client is receiving medical or mental health care, if they choose to tell us before or during our work together.
Information parents, guardians or students share for tutoring: learning differences or diagnoses (such as ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety), accommodations, and stress around school and testing.
Session notes, AI meeting transcripts and summaries that include any of the above.

About the burnout type quiz: it runs on Tally, which saves quiz answers. Your name and email are collected separately and aren't linked to your answers, so we can't connect a result to you. We don't add burnout types or any health information to our email list.

2. Why we collect it

We collect health data only to provide the coaching, consulting or tutoring you've asked for. That means tailoring the work, making sure coaching is the right fit, and referring you to a licensed professional when something is outside our scope.

We never use health data for advertising, marketing segmentation or selling.

3. Where it comes from

Directly from you: intake questions, sessions, messages and forms.
From a parent or guardian, for students.
From our own session notes, based on what you've shared.

4. Who we share it with

We share health data only with service providers that store or process it for us under contracts limiting their use to our instructions:

Notion (including Notion AI): stores session notes, AI meeting transcripts and client portals.
Google (Gmail, Calendar, Meet): handles messages, appointments and video sessions.
Anthropic (Claude): helps draft client documentation, with model training turned off.
Tally: stores anonymous quiz answers.
Squarespace: receives form submissions you send us.

We don't share health data with advertising platforms, data brokers or other third parties for their own use. We don't sell health data. We may disclose it if the law requires, or if we believe someone is at imminent risk of serious harm.

5. Consent

We collect and use health data only as needed to provide a service you've requested. For anything beyond that, we'll ask for your clear, separate consent first, and you can withdraw it at any time.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your health data.
Access your health data, and get a list of every third party we've shared it with, along with their contact information.
Delete your health data. This includes copies in archives and backups, and we'll tell our service providers to delete it too.
Withdraw consent you've given us.

7. How to make a request

Email support@coachellyn.com with "Health Data Request" in the subject line. Tell us what you'd like to do.

We'll verify your identity before acting on the request.
We'll respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why, and we can extend once by up to 45 more days.
Requests are free, up to twice in any 12-month period.
A parent or guardian can make a request for a minor student.

8. Appeals

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying with "Appeal" in the subject line. We'll respond in writing within 45 days and explain our decision. If we deny your appeal, you can file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General.

9. Security and retention

We limit access to health data to people who need it and protect our accounts with two-factor authentication. We keep health data only as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal requirements, then delete it. Client and student records are kept for three (3) years after our work ends.
